Electrolyte polymer membranes were synthesized by solution cast method. Fabrication of polymer electrolyte memb ranes done by using the polymer poly (vinyl alcohol)(PVA) and Lithiu m Hydro xide (LiOH) as the source of the electrolyte. PVA dissolved in distilled water while heated at 50 0 C for 2 hours. For preparing LiOH solution, the same procedure as for PVA solution were heated for an hour. Futhermore, PVA solution and LiOH solution were mixed wh ile stirred and heated at 50 0 C for one hour.
Then, the mixture solution was evaporated for 2 days which ultimately resulted in a thin sheet-transparent membrane. The perfo rmance of poly mer electro lyte membrane PVA -LiOH characterized by physical properties and conductivity analysis using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). The maximum measurement results and conductivity values obtained in 9% concentration of LiOH, reach 2.48 x10 -4 S.cm -1 .

This study aims to determine the effect of learning model Group Investigation (GI) with the experimental method on cognitive learning outcomes of students. The study population was all students of biology education second semester, Academic Year 2014/2015. The sample in this study was determined by cluster random sampling technique consists of two classes namely class A (treatment) using Group Investigation learning model (GI) and class B (control). Data collection techniques using test techniques to get the data the cognitive learning. This type of research is a quasi experimental study. Design research in this study using a pretest-posttest design. Data analysis techniques in this study using statistical analysis techniques with separated variance t test. Cognitive learning outcomes the average value of class A (treatment) 78.09 70.95 while the control class. Results of t-test showed significant value 0:03 <0:05 so that we can conclude the learning model Group Investigation (GI) effect on the cognitive learning Environmental Science Biology Education Program.

SENYAWA METABOLIT SEKUNDER EKSTRAK METANOL DAUN MANGROVE SONNERATIA ALBA DAN SIFAT TOKSISITASNYA

Sonneratia alba is one of the most important and widespread mangrove species. Although Indonesia has various types of mangroves but the utilization of mangroves as medicinal products, food and health has not been done because of the limited information about bioactive compounds in mangroves. The aim of this research is to know phytochemical group contained in mangrove leaf extract of Sonneratia alba and toxicity content of mango leaf extract of Sonneratia alba to Artemia salina larvae. Phytochemical tests performed are alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids / triterpenoids, saponins, phenolic and tannins. The method used in the toxicity test against Artemia salina is the BSLT method of this method carried out in the preliminary test for screening or screening pharmacological activity on natural products. The results showed that mango leaf extract of Sonneratia alba contain phenol, steroid / triterpenoid, saponin and tannin. Based on the results of toxicity test of mango leaf extract of Sonneratia alba has weak toxicity because obtained LC50 result more than 100 μg / mL that is 441.67 ppm. So that can be done further testing anti-cancer activity and drug development.

East Kalimantan has so much plant diversity of the various ethnic Dayak. One is the Tabar Kedayan plants (Aristolochia foveolata), which empirically efficacious as an antidote (anti-venom). However, its usefulness has not been scientifically confirmed, this is due to the small number of scientific studies on the content of secondary metabolites and bioactive compounds contained in the plant Aristolochia foveolata. Characteristics of simplicianot found in Aristolochia foveolata plant monograph book Materia Medika Indonesia (MMI).
This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of botanicals and content ofsecondary metabolites of Aristolochia plants foveolata. This study covers the characteristics of simplicia (by
organoleptic, macroscopic and microscopic) and phytochemical screening (inspection/identification of secondary metabolites) from the plant Aristolochia foveolata. Determination results showed that the samples of plants used are Tabar Kedayan Root
(Aristolochia foveolata Merr.). Of the genus Aristolochia and family Aristolochiaceae. Tabar Kedayan root powder contained fragments: fibers, cork fragments, starch items, wooden vessels, parenchyma.
Characteristic root extract is obtained Tabar Kedayan; condensed form of oily, brown color, typical aromatic odor, bitter taste, pH 5, specific gravity 1.047 g / ml, 31% shrinkage drying, water-soluble compound 42.5%, compound soluble in ethanol 16.13%, yield 25% extract. Tabar Kedayan root contains compounds alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids and steroids. TLC method using a spray reagent Dragendorf, showed that positive Tabar Kedayan roots contain the alkaloid compound gives red brick staining with Rf value of 0.96.

Studi reaksi co-pirolisis mikroalga Botryococcus braunii dan Victorian brown coal dengan thermogravimetric analyser telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari potensi dari campuran Botryococcus braunii dan Victorian brown coal sebagai sumber bahan bakar. Co-pirolisis dilakukan dengan empat variasi laju pemanasan yaitu 10, 15, 20 dan 25 ºC/menit menggunakan Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). Rentang suhu reaksi co-pirolisis aktif Botryococcus braunii dan Victorian brown coal berkisar antara 155,79 ºC hingga 545,27 ºC yang terjadi dalam tiga tahapan. Tahapan pertama adalah penguapan air dan senyawa volatil (20-200 ℃), tahapan kedua yaitu co-pirolisis aktif (250-500 ℃) dan tahapan ketiga yaitu dekomposisi lignin dan senyawa karbon yang terkandung dalam campuran mikroalga dan batubara (500-800 ℃).

Durian (Durio zibethinus Murray) termasuk buah-buahan yang dapat dimakan. Secara tradisional, daun durian telah lama dikenal dan dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat untuk menurunkan demam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam ekstrak kasar daun, batang dan kulit batang tanaman durian serta menentukan tingkat toksisitasnya terhadap larva udang (Artemia salina L.) dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kasar daun durian mengandung metabolit sekunder golongan flavonoid dan alkaloid, ekstrak kasar batang mengandung flavonoid dan alkaloid serta ekstrak kasar kulit batang mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid, triterpenoid dan saponin. Berdasarkan uji toksisitas, kasar kulit batang tanaman durian bersifat sangat toksik dengan nilai LC50 4,43 ppm sedangkan ekstrak kasar daun dan batang durian bersifat toksik dengan nilai LC50 berturut-turut 45,26 ppm dan 54,98 ppm.

SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES USING CHEMICAL REDUCTOR: MINI REVIEW

Silver nanoparticles are particles whose range ranges from 1-100 nm. Formation of metal nanoparticles can be done by top down (physics) and bottom up (chemistry) methods. Chemical reduction is a very commonly used method because it is relatively simple, easy and effective to produce AgNPs. Synthesis of silver nanoparticles was carried out by forming a colloidal silver solution using the silver nitrate reduction method with a chemical reducing agent. Some chemical reducing agents that can be used are ascorbic acid, citric acid, hydrazine and NaBH4. In addition, a stabilizing agent is needed to prevent agglomeration of the formed nanoparticles. The purpose of this article review is to determine the characteristics of silver nanoparticles synthesized using chemical reducing agents based on UV-Vis, PSA, TEM and SEM spectrophotometer data. The method used is the method of literature review. The results show that the synthesis of silver nanoparticles by reducing silver nitrate with sodium borohydride and poly acrylic acid (PAA) stabilizer produces an average size of 71.8 nm silver particles, the PVP stabilizer produces an average size of 96.0 nm silver particles, synthesis of silver nanoparticles using reducing agents ethylene glycol and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) produces an average size of silver particles of less than 10 nm, synthesis of silver nanoparticles using reducing agents hydrazine hydrate and polyvinyl alcohol produces an average size of silver particles of 10-60 nm.

Research on metal concentration of Pb, Mn and protein content in windu shrimp’ meat (penaeus sp.) analysis in Dondang river, kecamatan Muara Jawa have done. This research is aimed to determine the concentration of heavy metal Pb, Mn and concentration of protein inside windu shrimp based by size and different sampling location. Concentration of heavy metal Pb, Mn and protein are correlated using Least Square method. Concentration of heavy metal Pb and Mn are analyzed by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) and concentration of protein are analyzed by using Kjeldahl method. Result of this research is the concentration heavy metal Pb and Mn in sampling point 1 in average concentration are 0.556 mg/L and 0.463 mg/L, sampling point 2 are 0.790 mg/L and 0.738 mg/L, sampling point 3 are 0.876 mg/L and 0.905 mg/L. Concentration of protein in windu shrimp in sampling point 1 in average are 23.4928%, sampling point 2 are 28.1701% and sampling point 3 are 29.1622%. Correlation of concentration of heavy metal Pb and Mn to the concentration of protein in windu shrimp (penaeus sp.) with R = 0.791; r = 0.948.

This research aimed to utilize the oil palm empty fruit bunch for the production of reducing sugar. The oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) is the palm oil industry waste which composed of lignocellulosic material. Utilization microbial as an organism which can degrade a lignocellulosic biomass into simple sugars is a way to reduce the environmental problem. A potential of using OPEFB to accelerate cellulase activity and reducing sugar production by cellulolytic microorganism was tested. The high cellulase activity and reducing sugar producing actinomycetes isolate 12.3.A that was isolated from the oil palm plantation area in Phetchaburi, Thailand was used in this study. The isolate 12.3.A was preliminary appointed to be Streptomyces hirsutus from the result of 16S-rRNA gene analysis. The optimal conditions for cellulase activity and reducing sugar production of S. hirsutus isolate 12.3.A were determined. The best yields were derived from culturing the cells at pH 7, 30°C, substrate concentration of 1% and ammonium sulfate as nitrogen sources for 6 days incubation. The highest cellulase activities and reducing sugar production from OPEFB as substrate were 0.71 U/ml and 3.82 mg/ml, respectively.

Uji aktivitas antiinflamasi daun keledang (Artocarpus lanceifolius Roxb) terhadap penghambatan denaturasi protein secara in vitro telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persen penghambatan denaturasi protein dan kekuatan aktivitas antiinflamasi dari ekstrak metanol daun keledang (Artocarpus lanceifolius Roxb). Metode yang digunakan ialah metode in vitro menggunakan Bovine serum albumine (BSA) sebagai protein yang diinduksi oleh panas. Kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah natrium diklofenak. Hasil skrining fitokimia pada ekstrak metanol daun Artocarpus lanceifolius Roxb diketahui mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder flavonoid, fenolik, triterpenoid dan steroid. Aktivitas antiinflamasi ekstrak metanol daun keledang (Artocarpus lanceifolius Roxb) dalam IC50 adalah 195,0704 mg/L Ekstrak metanol daun keledang (Artocarpus lanceifolius Roxb) memiliki potensi sebagai antiinflamasi.

Forest betel plant is a plant belonging to the Piperaceae tribe. Sap of plants are often used by people as a cure boils and leaves as toxicity to mosquito larvae o f Aedes aegypti L. Was tested for BSLT (Brine shrimp Lethality Test) and antioxidants in ethanol and water ext ract of the twigs of the plant betel leaves this forest, the concentration used in the test BSLT 10 , 100 and 1000 pp m and antio xidant tests with obstacle (inhibit ion)% 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100pp m. Principles used in to xicity tests of ethanol and water extracts of p lant twigs forest betel Piper aduncum .L ( family :p iperaceae) BSLT (Brine shrimp Lethality Test) determined by the method of total mortality of larvae shrimp Artemia salina Leach extract co mpounds due to the influence of natural materials with a part icular concentration and antioxidant principle is based on the color of the solution changes DPPH (1,1-di fenil-2-pikrilhidrasil) from purple to yellow due to the presence of antio xidant compounds. Where the results of research in BSLT test showed that the LC 50 value twigs of 33.88 pp m ethanol extract and water extract of 323.593 ppm. The antio xidant test IC 50 values obtained at 140.732 pp m ethanol extract and water ext ract of 438.687 pp m with a b lank absorbance by 0.813.

APLIKASI ENZIM SELULASE TIPE ASAM PADA PROSES BIOWASHING KAIN DENIM DAN ANALISIS AIR LIMBAH YANG DIHASILKAN

Teknologi enzimatis berkembang sangat pesat, pada industri tekstil enzim dapat diaplikasikan pada proses pre treatment sampai dengan proses finishing. Salah satu proses enzimatis adalah penyempurnaan bio washing pada kain denim. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan proses bio washing menggunakan enzim selulase tipe asam dengan memvariasikan konsentrasi enzim dari 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 dan 3.5%. Karakterisasi yang dilakukan pada kain hasil bio washing adalah uji pengurangan berat kain, uji kekuatan tarik dan mulur kain, serta uji kekakuan kain. Karakterisasi air limbah meliputi COD, BOD, TSS. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan konsentrasi optimum adalah pada penggunaan enzim selulase konsentrasi 2.5%.
Kondisi optimum tersebut menghasilkan kain yang memenuhi standar mutu kain denim menurut SNI 08-0560-2008 tentang kain denim. Kekuatan tarik arah lusi dan pakan adalah 47,0 kg dan 25,6 kg dan COD setelah pengolahan limbah adalah 296,98 mg/l, BOD 148,58 mg/l, padatan tersuspensi 80 mg/l, padatan terlarut adalah 280 mg/l.

DISCOVERY LEARNING MODELS FOR TRAINING SCIENCE LITERACY OF STUDENTS IN COLOID MATERIALS

Scientific literacy ability is one of the abilities that must be mastered by students in the 21st century, to be able to solve problems in everyday life using the chemical concepts they are learning. Therefore, we need a learning that is able to relate learning material to the processes of everyday life, namely the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model. The purpose of this research is to improve students' scientific literacy skills in colloid material. This Discovery Learning model focuses on student activities in learning with the teacher as the facilitator. The research method used was the pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were all 52 students in class XI IPA at SMA Negeri 3 Muara Muntai in the 2022/2023 academic year, which were divided into 2 classes selected using a saturated sampling technique. The instruments used to measure students' scientific literacy skills are essay test techniques and non-test techniques in the form of student observation sheets and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the increase in students' scientific literacy skills was in the medium category with an effect size classified as a very strong category, as well as a positive response from students. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning learning model can increase students' scientific literacy in colloidal material.

Research on the validation of As determination methods on wellbore water by using atomic absorption spectrophotometer at PT. Geoservices Balikpapan has been calculated. The validation method used is APHA-3114 C, with research stages such as linearity, detection limit, quantitative limit, accuracy, precision. The results showed that the linearity test had good result with R2 ≥ 0.9997. The detection limit value was 0,000038 µg/Land the quantization limit value was 0,00129 µg/L. The %KV value obtained is smaller than the 2/3 KVHorwitz value, indicating that this method has a good precision. The determination of As in drilled well water samples is 0.9167 µg/L, then below the standard threshold of clean water quality quality based on Permenkes. 416/Menkes/PER/IX/1990. Based on the results of the research, APHA-3114 B/C method can be used to determine As in drilled well water samples.

Blood cholesterol level which were higher than normal is a trigger of various diseases. The objective of the research was to know the anti-hypercholesterol effect of bark African plant. The research about utilization of ethanol extract of bark African plant (Vernonia amygdalina Delile) has been done, it proved could decrease total cholesterol levels in male mice (Mus musculus). In this research sample macerated with ethanol 96% and then concentrated by rotary evaporator, and gained 9,7% of yield. Based on the results of phytochemical test, secondary metabolites compound that contained in bark African plant are alkaloid, flavonoid, triterpenoid, steroid, phenolic and saponin. On antihiperkolesterolemia activity test by using male mice, there are several treatments that negative control (-), positive control (+) and three treatment with different doses i.e. a low doses (7.5 mg/kg BB), middle doses (15 mg/kg BB) and high doses (30 mg/kg BB). The parameter measured was blood serum of male mice by using a Cholesterol Test Strips. From this test it showed that the effectiveness of decreased total cholesterol level at middle doses of 15 mg/kg BB.

This study aims to determine the differences of conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and to know the students’ response to implementation of problem posing and problem solving learning model in salt hydrolysis material. This quasi-experimental research used pre-test-post-test comparison group design were took place at class XI student of SMAN 6 Banjarmasin. By using t-test analysis, this research showed that there are differences in conceptual understanding and problem solving skills significantly between students learned by using problem posing and problem solving learning model. The students’s cognitive learning outcomes who learned by using problem posing better than who learned by using problem solving learning model. Students gave a positive response to implementation of the both learning models.

PENGARUH WAKTU KONTAK TERHADAP PENJERAPAN EKSTRAK ETANOL PUCUK DAUN PUCUK MERAH (Syzygium oleana) OLEH KERTAS SARING

This study aimed to determine the effect of contact time on % adsorption of ethanol extract of Pucuk Merah (Syzigium oleana) Shoot-Leaves (PMSL) by filter paper. The ethanol extract of PMSL was obtained by using maceration technique for 24 hours with material liquor ratio (MLR) of 1:7 (g/ml). The adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL onto filter paper was done at different contact times, i.e. 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes with MLR of 1:100 (g/ml), filter paper weight of 0.2850 ± 0.0092 g, solution volume of 30 ml and temperature of 81oC. The results showed that contact time effect on adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL onto filter paper. The % adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL onto filter paper increased with an increase in the contact time. The optimum contact time on the adsorption of ethanol extract of PMSL by filter paper was 90 minutes.

Pemisahan karotenoid dari CPO dapat dilaku kan menggunakan beberapa metode antara lain saponifikasi, adsorpsi, presipitasi, selective solvent extraction serta transesterifikasi yang diikuti dengan destilasi mo leku lar. Penelit ian in i memisahkan karotenoid dari CPO yang termodifikasi secara glycerolisis sehingga kaya akan Monoasilgliserol (CPO-MA G). Produk termodifikasi ini memiliki sifat lebih polar dari CPO sehingga pemisahan dapat dilakukan dengan kolo m fase terbalik Diaion HP-20. Konsentrasi karotenoid yang diperoleh dari pemisahan ini mencapai 5000 ppm, sementara konsentrasi karotenoid awal pada CPO adalah 600 pp m.

Addition of metal ions on lipase activity has been done. The aim of this research is to find out the effect of metal ions on lipase activity from water bacterial post mining in Samarinda. Lipase activity was determined based on the Titrimetric method with olive oil as a substrate. The result showed lipase activity from water bacterial post mining without the addition of metal ions is 1,0 U/mL and with the addition of metal ions Mg2+, K+, Fe3+, Ca2+, dan Ba2+their respective lipase activities is 0,6 U/mL, 0,7 U/mL, 1,9 U/mL, 1,4 U/mL dan 0,8 U/mL. The conclusion that can be drawn that is metal ions K+, Mg2+ and Ba2+ inhibit lipase activity with a relative activity each at 70; 60 dan 80% while Ca2+ increase lipase activity with a relative activity at 140% and Fe3+ causes denatured lipase with a relative activity at 190%.

This research is a descriptive qualitative where the focus of the research is the implementation of settlement services and distribution. Method of data collecting uses interview, observation and documentation technique. The technique of data analysis of the research consists of four components namely data collecting, data simplifying, data description and conclusion. The result of this research argues that implementation of settlement services and distribution on student of grade IX of SMP N 22 Samarinda has been comprehensively and appropriately conducted in accordance with the programs.

Ca-Alginate (CAA) resins modified by ash of cassava roots bark (ACRB) and utilized as material for column filler in ion preconcentration stage has been carried out. Preconcentration method was carried out by off-line method, sample poured into column by down flow, eluted by 1,0 M HCl and measured by Atomic Absobtion Spectrofotometer (AAS). Optimum component to produce modified microcapsule ACRB-CAA in mixture of 1% Na-Alginate, 1M CaCl2 and 0,05 gr of ACRB. The result revealed that ion Cd(II) retention in pH 4, sample volume and eluent HCl were 10 mL and 4 mL respectively and retention capacity 1,3705 mg Cd/gr resins. This method achieved a good result for Cd ion analysis with limit of detection 0,0101 mg/L and 1,29% of %CV and can be applied for ion Cd analysis of sample water from environment with percent of recovery >95% by spike method. Environmental sample taken from Mahakam River, well-water, ex coal excavation site.

Electrical conductivity of electrolyte polymer PVA.LiOH with nanoparticle Fe 3 O 4 dispersion result show a significant increase when compared to electrolyte polymer without nanoparticle Fe 3 O 4 . The electrolyte polymer PVA.LiOH electrical conductivity with nanoparticle Fe 3 O 4 reach 1,18 x 10 -3 Scm -1 orde, while without nanoparticle Fe 3 O 4 the electrical conductivity reach 2,48 x 10 -4 Scm -1 orde. This indicates an increase of amorphous phase after magnetic particle Fe 3 O 4 addition. The existence of magnetic nanoparticle Fe 3 O 4 can effectively increase the amorphous fraction of electrolyte polymer PVA.LiOH and magnetic properties carried by Fe 3 O 4 a new potential in development of electrolyte polymer.

Deteksi nikotin dari Air Ludah Perokok Aktif membutuhkan investigasi dan analisis Laboratorium yang akurat dan dapat dipercaya. Ludah Perokok Aktif dijadikan sampel untuk membuktikan seseorang apakah pengguna rokok mengandung nikotin ataupun tidak. Metode Purposif sampling dilakukan dengan melibatkan 5 (lima) orang Perokok
Aktif. Prosedur diawali dengan pengumpulan sampel masing masing sebanyak 10 ml. Preparasi dan ekstraksi dilakukan untuk mempermudah molekul nikotin terpisah dari Air Ludah. Proses maserasi coupling sonikasi dilakukan selama 15 menit, setelah nikotin terpisah, dilakukan analisis kualitatif meliputi spot test menghasilkan warna orange dan Kromatografi Kertas dengan nilai Rf sebesar 0,25. Analisis Kuantitatif dilakukan menggunakan Spektroskopi UV-Vis Pada Panjang gelombang 260 nm menghasilkan nikotin untuk masing masing sampel 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 5 masing masing sebesar : 0,5, 1,0, 1,5, 2,1, dan 0,5 ppm. Validasi metode menghasilkan nilai akurasi sebesar 107%. Pada presisi menghasilkan nilai SD : 0,000968 dan RSD : 0,19%. Untuk linearitas menghasilkan persamaan garis y = 0,0094x + 0,0313 dan R2= 0,9968. LOD = 0,0841 ppm dan LOQ = 0,2806 ppm. Karakterisasi menggunakan Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) menunjukkan bahwa terdapat nikotin pada sampel air ludah yang ditandai dengan adanya gugus OH terdapat pada bilangan gelombang 3296 cm-1, gugus C-H pada bilangan gelombang 2844 cm-1, gugus CH3 pada bilangan gelombang 1453 cm-1, gugus C-N aromatis pada bilangan gelombang 1398 cm-1, dan pada gugus C-N alifatis
pada bilangan gelombang 1017 cm-1. Metode preparasi dan ekstraksi nikotin dari air ludah perokok aktif telah dikembangkan dan menghasilkan data analisis yang valid.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder and characterized by hyperglycemic circumstances. Hyperglycemic is a condition where the glucose levels ini the blood increased dramatically. One of the pharmacological therapy ia to use ofdrugs that can reduse glucose levels in the blood. Phytochemical test and antihyperglicemic activity from durian (Durio zibethunus Murr.) peel have been carried out. Durio zibethinus Murr. peel was macerated with ethanol 96% then concentrated with rotary evaporators. It obtained rendemen 13.33% . Based on the test result of phytochemistry of secondary metabolites compounds from durian peel showed that etahanol extract containing flavonoid, alkaloid, fenolik, triterpenoid and saponin. Antihyperglicemic activity test use animal test male mice that is injected aloksan. Measurement of blood sugar levels using glucometer and glucose test strip. Assessment is one of activity to measure and assess the achievement level of curriculum and success or not the process of learning, it is also used to know the strengths and weakness consisted in learning process. One of the alternative of assessment is self assessment. In this research, there is an analysis about implementation of self assessment to assess student of XI SMA performance in Chemistry Equilibrium practicum. This research used descriptive method, that describes a phenomenon in learning with statistical measures. This research instrument is compiled according to self assesment implementation rubric.This rubric consists of phases of self assessment implementation to assess student performance in practicum and contains several components such as ideal criteria of self assessment implementation, indicators of achievement, implementation stages feasibility, and data sources. The collecting data of this research comes from self assessment implementation, Student ability to do the self assessment, student performance. The collecting data in this research uses self assessment sheet.self assessment observation sheet, student questionairre, and student interview guide.All research data will be analyzed. The analysis result will be connected to literature, so it will conclude the implementation of self assessment in assess performance of practicum that has been done. This research result show that student ability on self assessment in scholl is very good. The student is categorized as very good in assess his or her performance. It indicates that the ideal criteria on implementation self assessment has been accomplished.

Tanaman afrika (Vernonia amygdalina Del.) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat yang banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menentukan kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terdapat dalam ekstrak kasar daun, batang dan kulit batang tanaman Afrika (Vernonia amygdalina Del.) serta menentukan tingkat toksisitas (menentukan nilai LC50 dari ketiga ekstrak kasar tersebut) menggunakan metode BSLT (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test). Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu metabolit sekunder yang terkandung pada ekstrak kasar daun afrika yaitu flavonoid, triterpenoid dan steroid, pada ekstrak kasar batang tanaman afrika yaitu alkaloid, flavonoid dan steroid serta pada ekstrak kasar kulit batang tanaman afrika yaitu alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik, triterpenoid dan steroid. Nilai LC50 ekstrak kasar daun, batang dan kulit batang tanaman afrika sebesar 399,85 ppm; 118,25 ppm dan 80,82 ppm, secara berturut-turut. Ketiga jenis ekstrak ini bersifat toksik (LC50 < 1000 ppm).

Santa Barbara Acid-15 (SBA-15) merupakan material mesopori yang berpotensi sebagai pengemban katalis dan adsorben. Pembentukan SBA-15 umumnya menggunakan TEOS (tetraetilortosilikat) dan TMOS (tetrametilortosilikat) sebagai sumber utama silika. Sumber silika alternatif yang mulai dikembangkan pada pembentukan SBA-15 adalah limbah biomassa yang memiliki kadar SiO2 tinggi. Telah dilakukan review tentang karakteristik fisik dan kimia SBA-15 berbasis limbah seperti abu daun bambu petung, abu sekam padi, jerami gandum, abu daun tebu, abu terbang batubara dan tambang tailing, sebagai sumber utama silika. SBA-15 dari berbagai jenis limbah memiliki struktur heksagonal yang memiliki luas permukaan yang tinggi (411 – 955 m2/g), volume pori besar (0,50 – 2,89 cm3/g) dan, diameter pori besar (4,8 – 14,2 nm). Pola XRD SBA-15 berbasis limbah menunjukan tiga puncak dengan nilai indeks miller 100, 110 dan 200. Morfologi SBA-15 bervariasi seperti struktur cylindricals, struktur fiberlike dan struktur rods. Spektra Inframerah SBA-15 menunjukan adanya gugus fungsi yaitu Si-OH dan Si-O-Si. SBA-15 dari berbagai jenis limbah memiliki karakteristik fisik dan kimia yang dapat dibandingkan dengan SBA-15 dari TEOS dan TMOS.

Penelitian ini berjudul “Kualitas Minyak Atsiri Nilam dari Metode Pengecilan Ukuran pada Penyulingan Tanaman Nilam (Pogostemom cablin BENTH)” bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas dari minyak atsiri nilam yang dincang dan yang tanpa dicincang. Apakah sesuai dengan standar mutu SNI atau tidak. Penelit ian ini dilaksanakan di Sanga-Sanga, dan Lab. Analitik Kimia Po liteknik Pertanian Negeri Samarinda, sedangkan waktu pengolahan minyak nilam dan lada juga analisa mutunya selama 2 bulan kalender. Metode penyulingan yang digunakan adalah metode air dan uap. Dari hasil analisa diperoleh mutu minyak atsiri nilam yang tanpa dicincang dengan warna cokelat kemerahan, indek b ias 1,502, berat jenis 0,85. Kelarutan alkohol 1:3 . bilangan as am 3,95, bilangan ester 10. Sedangkan minyak atsiri nilam yang dicincang dengan warna kuning, indek bias 1,505, berat jenis 0,505, kelarutan alkohol 1:6, bilangan asam 3,25 bilangan ester 8,25. Melalui penelit ian terhadap mutu minyak atsiri nilam dapat disimpulkan beberapa hal penting yaitu: s ecara umum mutu minyak atsiri yang dihasilkan termasuk baik, karena masih masuk dalam SNI baik minyak Nilam dari tanpa dicincang maupun Dicincang . Pada minyak nilam yang berasal dari Dicincang lebih baik mutuya dibanding tanpa dicincang.

Pyrolysis experiments of bagasse with catalyst Ni/SBA-15 at 350°C, 450°C and 550°C using a Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (Py-GC/MS) been done. This study aims to determine the chemical composition of the pyrolysis product of bagasse with Ni/SBA catalysis (10% w/w). Based on the percent area value of the pyrolysis product identified on the pyrogram, the chemical composition of the pyrolysis product of bagasse produced was a cellulose/hemicellulose derivative product of 45.46%-60.24% and a lignin derivative product of 32.81%-17.77% . The addition of the catalyst Ni/SBA-15 to the pyrolysis of bagasse increased the amount of cellulose/hemicellulose derivative products such as ketones and furfural and then increased the amount of lignin derivative products such as vanillin and phenol.

Learning independence is related to self-management to achieve learning goals, including learning result. One of the learning models which demands students learning independence is the discovery learning. This study aims to: (1) to measure the students level of chemistry learning independence through the implementation of discovery learning model, (2) to determine students learning result through the implementation of discovery learning model on salt hydrolisis topic, (3) to determine positive correlation between learning independence and students learning result in chemistry through the implementation of discovery learning model on salt hydrolisis topic in MAN 2 Samarinda, academic year 2014/2015.
This study is classified as associative research. The population of this study is the whole students of MAN 2 Samarinda, while the sample is class XI Science I, whose number is 31 students. The sample is determined by using purposive sampling method. The learning independence data is obtained from learning independence questionnaire, adapted from assessing academic self-regulated learning and students learning result in chemistry is obtained from post-test and regular quiz. The data then analysed by using Pearson’s product moment correlation. The result showed the students learning independence in percentage as follows: highly independent (12.90%), independent (51.61%), fairly independent (35.48%), less independent (0%) and not independent (0%). The learning results percentage are as follow: very high (9.67%), high (19.35%), medium (51.56%), low (19.35%) and very low (0%). There is a positive correlation between learning independence and learning result on medium level (0.433).

Kalimantan Timur memiliki potensi untuk melakukan pengembangan terhadap budidaya tanaman holtikultura, namun selama ini belum dapat diwujudkan. Salah satu hambatan pada pengembangan budidaya tanaman holtikultura adalah serangan serangga hama yang dapat menurunkan produksi tanaman holtikultura. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan kimia yang ada pada bahan alam yaitu daun saliara (Lantana camara L) sebagai bahan baku pembuatan pestisisda nabati penekan serangan serangga hama daan insidensi penyakit tanaman holtikultura di Kalimantan Timur. Daun saliara merupakan daun tanaman yang mudah didapatkan di wilayah Kalimantan Timur. Selama ini tanaman tersebut selama dianggap sebagai gulma dan belum banyak dimanfaatkan.
Sampel pada penelitian adalah daun saliara yang diambil dari berbagai daerah di Kaltim yaitu Kutai Timur, Kutai Barat dan Kutai Kartanegara, Kalimantan Timur. Sampel daun selanjutnya dikeringkan dan dibuat serbuk. Masing-masing sampel daun dilarutkan dalam etanol 96% dan dimaserasi selama 24 jam. Kemudian dilakukan uji fitokimia untuk mengetahui adanya alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, steroid, dan triterpenoid.
Hasil uji fitokimia ekstrak daun saliaramenunjukkan adanya kandunganbahan aktif tannin, saponin, steroid. Kandungan bahan aktif yang terdapat pada ekstrak daun tersebut memiliki potensi sebagai pestisida nabati karena dapat mempengaruhi serangga hama dan bakteri penyebab penyakit pada tanaman holtikultura.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi jamur yang menyerang umbi bawang merah (Allium cepa L.) setelah pasca panen selama penyimpanan yang mengakibatkan busuk pada umbi bawang, dilakukan di Stasiun Karantina Pertanian Kelas 1 Samarinda Kalimantan Timur. Metode yang digunakan adalah Blotter On Test. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai salah satu usaha untuk mencegah
penyebaran penyakit pada tanaman yang diakibatkan oleh jamur khususnya penyakit busuk umbi pada bawang merah. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan (isolasi dan identifikasi) diketahui bahwa jamur yang menyerang umbi bawang merah adalah golongan/suku Netriaceae yaitu jamur Fusarium sp. Ciri- ciri dari umbi bawang merah yang terserang jamur Fusarium sp. yaitu umbi akan menampakkan dasar umbi yang berwarna putih, karena adanya massa cendawan dan umbi membusuk dimulai dari pangkal umbi, jika diamati secara morfologi dari luar umbi akan nampak berwarna coklat kehitam-hitaman dan berair.

Diabetes merupakan penyakit kronis dengan gangguan metabolisme akibat pankreas tidak menghasilkan cukup insulin yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia. Terapi farmakologi yang digunakan untuk menurunkan kadar glukosa dalam darah salah satunya dengan menghambat kerja enzim -glukosidase sehingga menunda penyerapan glukosa di dalam saluran
pencernaan. Penggunaan bahan alam yang memiliki potensi sebagai penghambat enzim -glukosidase adalah daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp.) yang secara empiris telah banyak digunakan sebagai obat tradisional oleh masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui senyawa bioaktif dari fraksi air daun salam yang
memiliki aktivitas penghambatan enzim -glukosidase. Penarikan senyawa kimia dilakukan dengan maserasi serbuk daun salam dalam etanol 96%, kemudian ekstrak etanol dipartisi dengan etil asetat dan air. Ekstrak air difraksinasi dengan kromatografi kolom (SiO2 : i). CH2Cl2-MeOH = 10 : 1 ~ 1:1 ii). CH2Cl2 - aseton = 2 : 1 memberikan fraksi 2-1 mempunyai aktivitas penghambatan enzim α-glukosidase paling baik, dengan IC50 21,54 ppm. Identifikasi senyawa kimia menggunakan Liquid Chromathography Tandem Mass Spectrum (LC-MS/MS) memberikan puncak dengan kelimpahan terbesar dengan bobot molekul ion m/z 413 (M+1)+ yang diperkiraan senyawa kimianya adalah Stigmasterol.

A review on antipyretics and the synthesis on the oxepine derivatives has been done. This research was aimed as the early review on the antipyretics and to synthesis the oxepine derivatives from salicylic acid and benzylchloride based on the retrosynthesis approach. This research was supervised by Dr. K.M Lokanatha Rai, M.Sc in the University of Mysore.
This research was done by two methods, first is the review based on the proposed functional group which will be potential for the antipyretics substance. Second, is based on the retrosynthesis approach in order to obtain the proposed product through the condensation reaction between salycilic acid and the benzylchloride with the THF solvents stirred of 48 hours formed the oxepine which was then transformed to oxime derivatives and confirmed by the IR spectrums. The proposed product was the oxepine derivatives.
The review on the antipyretics showing that the potential functional group to be the antipyretics are: the salicyl alchol nitrogen derivatives; some pyrazolone and amino pyrimidine; benzopyranone derivatives; and aspirin eugenol esters. For this review, the investigated functional groups are still further to be discussed.
The result of this research on the synthesis of oxepine derivatives shown that the optimum condition of the reaction between salicylic acid and benzyl chloride is at room temperature with the composition of 4 gram of salicylic acid and 4 ml of benzyl chloride was stirred in THF solvent and KOH for 48 hours. The yield of the product is 1.08 g with the confirmed spectrum of IR are: 3369 cm-1 (-OH); 1659.4 cm-1 (C=N); 1554.92 cm-1 (aromatic); 1088.3 cm-1 (N-O); 1019.83 cm-1 (C-O). It is confirmed as an oxime which is the oxepine derivatives.

ANALISIS KUALITAS DAN KOMPOSISI ASAM LEMAK DARI MINYAK BIJI WIJEN (Sesamum Indicum L)

Biji wijen (Sesamum Indicum L) merupakan salah satu sumber minyak nabati. Tanaman wijen banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pangan. Biji wijen merupakan salh satu sumber minyak nabati yang belum diketahui sifat fisiko-kimianya, sehingga pemanfaatan biji wijen belum maksimal. Pada penelitian ini, minyak biji wijen diperoleh melalui proses ektraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut n-heksana. Hasil ekstraksi berupa minyak berwarna kuningyang diproses kembali untuk menghasilkan minyak lebih murni dengan penetralan dan pemucatan. Minyak hasil ekstraksi yang telah dimurnikan tersebut dianalisis sifat fisiko-kimianya. Komposisi asam lemak dari minyak biji wijen adalah eicosanioc acid (5,12%), 9,12-octadecadienoic acid (2,71%), n-hexadecanoic acid (14,52%), octadecanoic acid (5,91%), 9-octadecanoic acid (43,57%) dan 10(E), 12(Z)-conjugated linoleic acid (21,64%). Sifat fisika dan kimia dari minyak biji wijen adalah bobot jenis dan indeks biasnya sebesar 1,037 gram/mL dan 1,465. Bilangan asamnya sebesar 9,117 mg KOH/g sampel. Bilangan penyabunan sebesar 172,8 mg KOH/g sampel. Bilangan iod sebesar 91,3184 g iod/100 g sampel. Bilangan peroksida sebesar 6,546 meq O2/kg sampel. Kadar materi tidak tersabunkan sebesar 0,001% dan kadar asam lemak bebas sebesar 4,309%.

Kaffir lime levaes is one of citrus cultivars in Indonesia that used as a food ingredient. The antioxidant activity of essential oil and crude extracts of Kaffir lime leaves in East Borneo was determined.The antioxidant potential of the samples was evaluated using two separate methods, inhibition of free radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2-azino-bis 3ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS).Results showed that the ethanol extracts were able to reduce the stable free radicals (DPPH and ABTS) with 49,5 μmol TE/mg and 42,8 μmol TE/mg, respectively.The total phenolic compounds were 4,06 μg GAE/mg. The essential oils from fresh leaves showed inhibition (DPPH) and (ABTS) at 5,78μmol TE/mg and 5,12μmol TE/mg, respectively. The strong antioxidant activity of the plant extracts may be attributed to the presence of phenolics.

Kerehau (Callicarpa longifolia Lamk.) is one of the biodiversity used as traditional medicine by one of the indigenous tribes of Borneo, called Dayak Tunjung. The purpose of this study was to determine about toxicity level of the Kerehau leaves (Callicarpa longifolia Lamk.) to larvae shrimps (Artemia Salina Leach) and to determine the content of the active compounds contained in the Kerehau leaves (Callicarpa longifolia Lamk.). The research was conducted by extracting samples with methanol and then concentrated by rotary evaporator. Total extract fractionated with n-hexane and chloroform, and then column chromatography applicated to chloroform fraction. Phytochemicals and BSLT have been test to Isolates chromatography results, total extract and chloroform extracts to determine the level of toxicity. Based on the results test of phytochemical compounds secondary metabolites of Kerehau leaves (Callicarpa longifolia Lamk.) indicated that the methanol extract containing steroid compounds, phenolics, and flavonoids. Chloroform fractions containing flavonoids and steroid compounds. Isolates Chloroform fraction containing Steroids compounds. On Brine Shrimp Lethality Test, death of larvae shrimps (Artemia Salina Leach) were recorded and processed using SAS Probit analysis to determine the value of Lethal Concentration (LC 50 ) to the value of each is, in chloroform isolates with LC 50 values of 96.4096 ppm, chloroform extract had LC 50 values of 104.1878 ppm and methanol extract had LC 50 values of 485.1681 ppm.

Pirolisis mikroalga Botryococcus braunii dengan Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA) telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari karakteristik dan potensi mikroalga B. braunii sebagai sumber energi terbarukan melalui proses pirolisis. Pirolisis dilakukan dengan empat variasi laju pemanasan yaitu 10, 15, 20 dan 25 °C/menit. Berdasarkan hasil karakterisasi, B. braunii memiliki kadar air 5,01 ± 0,42%, kadar abu 27,44 ± 1,11%. Kurva TG dan dTG pirolisis B. Braunii menunjukan rentang suhu untuk reaksi pirolisis aktif mikroalga B. braunii adalah antara 150 – 550 °C, dimana terjadi proses degradasi biomassa yang terdiri dari dekomposisi karbohidrat, protein dan lipid.

The main object ive of this essay was to describe the minerals, nutrients and active compounds of rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) fru its. Flesh fruit of rambutan is a source of minerals and ascorbic acid that are needed by human body. Its seed oil provides mineral and fatty acid. Its peel contains ellagic acid, corilagin and geraniin that have biological activit ies, such as antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammation, anti-hyperalgesic antiviral, anti-semicarbazide-sensitive amine o xidase (SSAO), and anti-hypertensive. Rambutan is not only consumed as fresh fruits, but also it can be used as sources of food and medicine products.

The research about preparation of activated charcoal from bagasse and its application as an adsorbent for red dye from the waste weaving of the sarong in Samarinda has been conducted. Determination of the surface area of ​​charcoal before and after activation using the methylene blue method was 176.1918 m2/g and 180.2635 m2/g, respectively, characterization by FT-IR on activated charcoal before and after activat ion showed that there are C - H. aromatic, C = O, C = O and C - O, based on the XRD characterization results showed that after activation activated carbon there is an amorph peak with a heterogeneous surface which indicated that the characteristic carbon appeared in the area between 22.26-24.31o. Analysis of the quality of charcoal after activation obtained a moisture content of 5%; ash content 4.20% and volatile mater 29.44%. The use of activated charcoal for adsorption on the rhodamine B dye and the red dye from waste dyeing yarn weaving sarong Samarinda used a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with several variations of optimization, namely: optimum contact time variation, optimum adsorbent weight variation, optimum concentration variation and comparison of the optimum optimization results at time variations contact and adsorbent weight of rhodamine B dye and red dye from from waste dyeing yarn weaving sarong Samarinda, the results of the optimization comparison of optimum contact time obtained the highest degradation% in red dye from from waste dyeing yarn weaving sarong Samarinda, namely 66.410%, optimum at 45 minutes and the optimization of adsorbent weight variations obtained the highest The optimum red dye from from waste dyeing yarn weaving sarong Samarinda is 93.387% at a weight of 0,2 g.

SILVER NANOPARTICLES CAPPED L-Cysteine AS A MERCURY ION DETECTOR BY COLORIMETRY: A JOURNAL REVIEW

Nanoparticles are a field of research on the atomic scale with a particle size of 1-100 nm. There are many applications of nanoparticles in various fields, such as heavy metal detectors. One type of nanoparticle that can be used as a detector is L-Cysteine modified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs-L-Cys). Thus, the purpose of this review is to determine the ability of L-Cysteine modified silver nanoparticles to detect heavy metals from literature data. Based on the results of the literature, one of the heavy metals that can be detected using AgNPs-L-Cys is Hg. The color of the solution synthesized by AgNPs-L-Cys is a yellow solution. From the results of some literature, there are differences in color changes in the addition of Hg solution to AgNPs-L-Cys solutions such as changes in color from yellow to white, dark yellow to clear, and brown to light yellow. The maximum wavelengths for detecting Hg2+ metal ions from several literatures were found to be 420 nm, 410 nm, 392 nm and 390 nm. The linearity results were obtained in the range of 1-2500 nM with a relation coefficient of 0.994 and 40-1040 nM with a relation coefficient of 0.998. When compared to gold nanoparticles modified L-Cysteine (GNPs-Cys), AgNPs-L-Cys has a wider range where GNPs-Cys has a range of 100-2000 nM with a correlation coefficient of 0.9747. The LOD results obtained from several literatures were 45.39 nM and 8 nM. The % recovery results obtained from several literatures are 98.38% ± 14.1% and 91.5%∼109.1%. From these data, AgNPs-L-Cys can be used for the detection of Hg2+ metal ions with high selectivity, sensitivity, simplicity and detection speed.

A research to find out the secondary metabolite compounds contained in theleaves of terap (Artocarpus elasticus) and its toxicity of terap leavesextract has been done by using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. Toxicity was conducted for prawn Artemia salina Leach of 48 hours age. Toxicity data were obtained from Lethal Concentration 50% (LC50) with percentage of death of prawn larva and counted by probit analysis SAS. The result showed that 5thn-hexane fraction was more toxic than another extract with LC50 values 71.887 ppm and furthermore, the bioactive compound of 5thn-hexane fraction was probably to be either steroid compound.

Kapas banana is a source of carbohydrate that can used as flour. Physical and chemical properties of the natural flour have abstacle that caused limited apllication for food product. Banana flour can be modified by spontaneous fermentation and autoclaving -cooling to increase the function of the flour. This
study aims to determine strach, amylose and amy lopectin content. This experiment used completely randomized design with two factorial and three replication. The first factor was spontaneous fermentation in 0, 12, 24, and 45 hour, whereas the other was autoclaving - cooling in 0 , 15 , 30 and 45 minute. Result of the experiment showed that modification of spontaneous fermentation and autoclaving the affect the characteristic of kapas banana flour . The content of starch, amylose, and amylopectin in the kapas banana flour are 58.56-71.70 %, 14.58-20.46 %, and 39.66-54.03 % respectively.

The research about the biosorpsion of hexavalent chromium heavy metal [Cr(VI)] with Streptococcus mutans bacteria has been carried out. Biosorption has been done by exposure of chromium to broth culture, the consentration and optimum time happened on the 4 day with the biosorption percentage of Cr(VI) by Streptococcus mutans bacteria was obtained at a concentration of Cr(VI) 5 ppm, with a percentage of 90.80%. It shows Streptococcus mutans has potential as biosorbent of Cr(VI).

Aktivitas antiinflamasi ekstrak matanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) dalam menghambat denaturasi protein telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antiinflamasi dari ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) dengan metode penghambatan denaturasi protein. Protein yang digunakan adalah bovine serum albumin (BSA) 0,2% (w/v) dalam tris buffer saline (TBS). Kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah natrium diklofenak. Hasil uji fitokimia ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) mengandung senyawa golongan alkaloid, steroid, fenolik dan flavonoid. Hasil uji aktivitas antiinflamasi ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) diperoleh nilai inhibition concentration 50% (IC50) sebesar 127,95 µg/mL. Ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) memiliki aktivitas sebagai antiinflamasi sedang.

Lubricant is one of the supporters so that the machine can operate optimally within a certain period of time so that the right viscosity is needed. This literature study aims to determine the appropriate method of testing the viscosity of a product. There are two different methods for testing viscosity, namely the ASTM D-445 and ASTM D-7042 methods. In this literature study, operational methods and scope of testing are compared between ASTM D-445 and ASTM D-7042 methods. Based on the results of the literature study, the ASTM D-445 method has a different method from ASTM D-7042. In ASTM D-445 it is a test to determine kinematic viscosity (ν) while in ASTM D-7042 it is a test which includes determining dynamic viscosity (η) and density (ρ). This literature study shows that the ASTM D-7042 method is very effective in the food industry, whereas the ASTM D-445 method is found to be very effective in the natural gas processing industry.

The ethylenediamide synthesis from methyl ester of Moringa oleifera seed oil has been performed by the amidation reaction. The results showed that GC analysis denoted the most dominant composition of oleic fatty acid in 70.72%. The ethylenediamide which has been resulted an acid,was containedof 12.04 mg KOH/gram of Moringa oleifera seed oil, 5.58 mg KOH/gram of saponification number, and 10.72 of HLB practical value. The FT-IR spectrum has provided a peak of specific absorption for the -C=O amide group, -C-N- which represents the specific group of ethylenediamide. OH and CO ester group showed the process of ethylenediamde synthesis has not proceeded perfectly as seen in the differences of practical and theoretical HLB values.

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the antibacterial activity of crude ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction, methanol:water fraction and n-hexane fraction of white pacing flower (Costus speciosus (J. Koenig) Sm.). Sample preparation was carried out using the extraction method, namely maceration with 96% ethanol and obtained a crude extract of ethanol and continued by partition by liquid-liquid extraction method and obtained the n-hexane, the ethyl acetate, and the methanol:water fractions. The antibacterial activity test was carried out on the four samples using the well diffusion method with modification against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. The antibacterial activity test showed activity in the crude extract of ethanol with an inhibition zone diameter of 7.7 mm.

The Study on critical thinking and cognitive prospective students through inquiry-based learning had been conducted. The aim of this study is to determine the critical thinking and cognitive prospects of senior high school students through the free and guided inquiry learning. The data had been gathered by using a quasi-experimental. The first step of this study was using non equivalent control group that was designed for SMA Negeri 11 to see the prospect of guided inquiry and also student’s cognitive and critical thinking. Next step, to improve students cognitive and critical thinking datagathered from SMA Negeri 1 Banjarmasin students to see prospective guided inquiry and free inquiry. The comparison between designed pre test-post test of these 2 groups analyzed.
The study shows that (1) guided inquiry learning having more prospect compared to expository learning with value of N-gain 0.71 and 0.62 (2) free inquiry has more prospect in improving critical thinking than guided inquiry with a value of N-gain 0, 48 and 0.47. (3) guided inquiry has more prospect in increasing students cognitive value compared to free inquiry to the value of N-gain of 0.82 and 0.62.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang betujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar dan partisipasi siswa pada pembelajaran kimia melalui model make a match. Melalui model ini siswa berperan aktif dengan mencari pasangan dari kartu soal yang dimiliki dan menuliskan pasangan jawaban dalam lembar kerja, hal ini dilakukan hingga 10 sesion. Penelitian ini berlangsung 2 siklus. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata pada tes awal sebesar 67,77 dengan persentase ketuntasan 8 %, setelah melalui proses tindakan pada siklus 1 diperoleh nilai rata-rata 78,06 dengan persentase ketuntasan 61, 11 % dan pada siklus 2 diperoleh nilai rata-rata 81,03 dengan persentase ketuntasan 94,44 %. Dapat terlihat adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran tidak hanya berfokus pada guru tapi juga pada siswa. Konsekuensi dari hasil yang diperoleh pada upaya tersebut maka guru merupakan kunci dari permasalahan yang dihadapi. Guru harus mampu berada pada titik sentral dalam mengatur, mengarahkan dan menciptakan susana belajar yang efektif dan menyenagkan. Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang modifikasi karet alam siklis (KAS) dengan asam oleat (AO) menggunakan inisiator dikumil peroksida (DCP) sebagai kompatibiliser dengan metode kopolimer cangkok. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dalam skala laboratorium bertujuan untuk menghasilkan campuran yang homogen dan kompatibel paduan KAS dengan AO pasca penambahan bahan pengisi montmorillonit. Karakterisasi dilakukan dengan analisa FT-IR, DSC, XRD dan SEM. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan proses pencangkokkan AO pada rantai molekul KAS menggunakan inisiator DCP telah berhasil dilakukan, hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari analisa FT-IR muncul pita serapan baru yang tidak ada terdapat pada spektrum FT-IR KAS, yaitu pita serapan pada bilangan gelombang 1708 cm-1 menunjukkan adanya gugus karbonil karboksilat C=O berasal dari monomer OA yang sudah tercangkok pada rantai molekul KAS. Analisa KAS-g-AO dengan DSC menunjukkan telah terjadi penurunan suhu transisi gelas (Tg) sebesar 10.0 0C (dari 90.2 0C turun menjadi 80.2 0C). Analisa dengan SEM struktur morfologi mikrokomposit paduan KAS-g-AO pasca penambahan montmorillonit menghasilkan campuran yang homogen dan kompatibel terlihat seluruh bahan pengisi montmorillonit terdistribusi secara merata sehingga tidak ada terlihat rongga-rongga yang berlubang. Hasil kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah modifikasi KAS dengan AO menggunakan DCP dan bahan pengisi montmorillonit telah berhasil dilakukan menghasilkan campuran yang homogen dan kompatibel.

Telah dilakukan pengukuran konduktivitas elektropolimerisasi polipirol pada berbagai variasi pH. Elektropolimerisasi pirol pada permukaan elektroda emas menggunakan teknik voltammetri siklis dengan sistem tiga elektroda yaitu elektroda emas termodifikasi p iro l, Ag/AgCl (KCl 3M) sebagai elektroda pembanding, dan kawat plat inu m sebagai elektroda bantu. Diu kur pada potensial -0,6 V sampai +1,8V dengan laju scan 100 mV/detik pada kondisi rentang pH 1 sampai 14 menggunakan elektrolit KCl 0,1 M kemudian
dilakukan pengukuran impedance untuk mempero leh nilai konduktivitas. Diperoleh data pada kondisi pH 9 elektropolimerisasi pirol memiliki konduktivitas paling tinggi. Dalam keadaan konduktivitas yang tinggi, fungsi pirol sebagai polimer konduktif pada biosensor memiliki kemampuan transfer elektron yang baik.

STUDY KINETIC PYROLYSIS OF ULIN WOOD POWDER USING THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS

A kinetic study of ironwood powder pyrolysis using thermogravimetric analysis has been conducted. This study aims to determine the thermal decomposition process and determine the activation energy value of ironwood powder pyrolysis using the free Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS) and Friedman models. Pyrolysis in this study used heating rates of 10, 15, 20, and 25 ºC/minute. The active temperature range of ironwood powder pyrolysis was 130.88 – 552.21ºC. The thermal decomposition process occurred in three stages, namely 1. evaporation of water or moisture, 2. active pyrolysis for the decomposition of hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin compounds, and 3. passive pyrolysis caused by gasification and the formation of non-volatile carbon compounds which evaporate to form CO and CO2 gases at high temperatures. The average activation energy of the pyrolysis of ironwood powder using the Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS) and Friedman methods were 137.34 ± 30.05 kJ/mol and 147.83 ± 36.66 kJ/mol, respectively.

Acacia sp. bark was extracted by using Soxhlet Extractor with acetone : water solvents (4 : 6) for 2 hours, extraction with n-hexane, added by NaCl solution, then hydrolized with aqueous hydrochloric acid and finally the precipitate is recrystalized.The antioxidant activity tests were used in this research: Thiocyanate method and Thiobarbituric acid (TBA) method. Thiocyanate method is done for 10 days and the sample absorbance is measured with UV-Vis Spectrophotometre at λ = 500 nm. The TBA method is done with sample absorbance measurement at λ = 532 nm tor 10 days. In this condition, the sample consisted of the mixture of oleic acid 0,05% in absolute ethanol, phosphate buffer in pH=7 with the extract variation (0,05% and 0,09%), BHT and control. The result showed a positive indication that the extract can be used as a natural antioxidant. This research showed higher concentration of the extract also made higher antioxidant activity.

This paper is a preliminary research in the application of electrosynthesis method in extracting the sample. The maceration process of extraction is one of the simplest ways of extracting nicotine in a preparation. The extraction process can be accelerated by electrochemical principle. The method developed is maceration coupling electrosynthetise in analyzing nicotine contained in cigarette butts. Descriptive method developed in the process of nicotine maseration on filter cigarettes and non-filter cigarettes using ethanol solvents. The experimental method was developed in maceration process and maceration coupling electrosynthesis with variation of time respectively 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes. The best results were obtained on non-filter cigarettes using maceration coupling electrosynthesis at 20 and 25 minutes with qualitative results with cyanogen bromide marked by abundant yellow (+++). The analysis continued using UV-Vis spectrophotometry method and obtained the best sample concentration on non-filter cigarette method of maceration coupling electrosynthesis at 15 minute ( 0,01003 ppm).

The phytochemical test, brine shrimp lethality test and antioxidant activity test on secondary metabolits of terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus B.)leaves have been completed. The leaves samples are extracted by masseration method that is concentrated by using rotary evaporator. The total extract are fractioned with n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Based on secondary metabolits phytochemical test of terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus B.)leaves showed that total extract, n-hexane fraction extract andEthyl Acetat fraction extractcontains steroid and flavonoid. In brine shrimp lethality test, the increase larvae death data was recorded and processed using SAS Probit Analysis to determine the Lethal Concentration 50 % (LC 50 ) value. The results of this test showed that the most active extract is metanol extract with LC 50 value of 110,5176ppm. Based on the antioxidant activity by scavenging activity of DPPH used spectrophotometry was obtained that Inhibition Concentration 50% (IC 50 ) of total extract is 563,57 ppm, extract of n-hexane fraction is 631,87 ppm and extract of ethyl acetat fraction is 45,30 ppm.

KINERJA ANALITIK KOMPLEKS Cu(II)-NINHIDRIN SECARA SPEKTROFOTOMETERI

Sebuah metode spektrofotometri untuk penentuan senyawa kompleks Cu(II)-Ninhidrin telah diteliti. Tahapan pada penelitian ini adalah uji kualitatif ion logam terhadap ninhidrin. Selanjutnya dilakukan optimasi pembentukkan kompleks dengan penentuan panjang gelombang maksimum, variasi pH, perbandingan mol logam : mol ligan Cu(II)-ninhidrin dan variasi waktu. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan kinerja analitik dengan parameter linearitas, presisi dan limit deteksi. Hasil pengukuran panjang gelombang maksimum dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis kompleks Cu(II)-ninhidrin mempunyai panjang gelombang 352 nm, pH optimum terjadi pada pH 9, perbandingan mol logam : mol ligan Cu(II)-ninhidrin adalah 1:3, dan kestabilan terjadi pada waktu 30 sampai 40 menit menghasilkan warna kompleks hijau kekuningan. Hasil kinerja analitik diperoleh linieritas (R2), presisi (%RSD) dan limit deteksi berturut-turut adalah 0,9908; 2,93% dan 0,2298 mM.

The main objective of this essay was to describe the minerals, nutrients and active compounds of rambutan (Nepheliumlappaceum L.) fruits. Flesh fruit of rambutanis a sourceof minerals and ascorbic acid that are needed by human. Its seed oil provides mineral and fatty acid. Its peel contains ellagic acid, corilagin and geraniin that have biological activities, such as antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammation, anti-hyperalgesic antiviral, anti-semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO), and anti-hypertensive. Rambutan is not only consumed as fresh fruits, but also it can be used as sources of food and medicine products.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan penerapan model kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) berbasis media kartu soal dan ular tangga pada materi reaksi redoks di kelas X SMA Negeri 14 Medan. Sampel penelitian sebanyak dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen I diberi perlakuan menggunakan media ular tangga dan kelas ekperimen II diberi perlakuan menggunakan media kartu soal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Pretest-postest Control Group Design. Penelitian ini meggunakan instrument test yang telah diujicobakan dan telah valid. Data hasil belajar siswa di uji coba normalitas dan homogenitasnnya, hasil yang didapat kedua sampel berdistribusi normal dan berdistribusi homogen. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t- dua pihak dengan hasil penelitian ini pada taraf signifikansi 5% ( menunjukkan bahwa ) maka Ho ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan hasil belajar menggunakan pembelajaran model model kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) berbasis kartu soal dan ular tangga pada materi redoks.

steroid (isolate 1) and flavonoid (isolate 2) types have been isolated from n-hexane and chloroform fractions of Terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus Blanco) leaves, respectively. The types of compounds were determined by phytochemical test. Basic on the result of toxicity test against Brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) shown that isolate 1 exhib ited highest toxic act ivity among others with LC 50 48.39 ppm.

This study aims to determine the problem of Inquiry Learning Devices Model Happens in High School Chemistry Teacher in Samarinda. Subjects in this research were 1 teacher and 1 respondents.
Methods of analysis was done qualitatively obtained through observation, interviews, documentation and triangulation and data obtained in the research then described.
The results showed that the chemistry teacher is having problems in the preparation of RPP learning device.

Isolation and identification a phenolic compound from Aceh traditional medicinal plants “Halban” leaves (Vitexpinnata Linn) had been done. Isolation was carried out by extracted Halban leaves with methanol solvent, and then portioned with n-hexane, ethylacetate, and evaporated to gave n-hexane, ethylacetate and water extracts. Purification of ethylacetate was conducted with clumn chromatography (SiO2; (i). n-hexane-ethylacetate = 10 : 1 ~ 1 : 1 (ii). n-hexane-ethylacetate = 2 : 1 (iii). N-hexane-acetone = 1 : 1 to gave one pure compound. Identification of isolated compound by interpretation of Ultra violet (UV), Infra Red (IR), and Nuclear magnetic Resonance (1H- & 13C-NMR) spectra showed the compound is 4-hydroxyl methyl benzoate which has activity as antioxidant IC50 41.08 ppm.

A research has been conducted with a title .The activity of extract and fractions of Sonneratia leaf (Sonneratia caseolaris L.) as an antioxidant. This research aims to know the activity of extract and fractions of Sonneratia leaves as an antioxidant against the free radical DPPH. The Sonneratia leaves powder was extracted using maceration tool with methanol solvent. The methanolic extract fractioned with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol solvents. Testing of antioxidant activity is performed with the DPPH method (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl) by spectrophotometry. Absorbance measurement was conducted with spectrophotometry at the wave length 516 nm. Data was analyzed with linear regression to obtain values of IC50. The result of research showed that the extract and fractions of Sonneratia leaves have activity as an antioxidant with the IC50 value of methanolic extract was 21,62 ppm, n-hexane fraction was 82,36 ppm, ethyl acetate fraction was 13,41 ppm, and n-butanol fraction was 13,04 ppm. The test samples which provide the best antioxidant activity is the fraction of n-butanol.

Sintesis nanopartikel perak menggunakan reduktor asam askorbat telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mengetahui proses sintesis nanopartikel perak dan mengetahui kestabilan nanopartikel perak berdasarkan variasi konsentrasi AgNO3 dengan menggunakan reduktor asam askorbat. Pada sintesis ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan variasi konsentrasi AgNO3 dan variasi reduktor asam askorbat. Karakterisasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil Spektrofotometer UV-Vis menunjukan konsentrasi AgNO3 4×10-4 M dengan asam askorbat 1×10-3 M lebih stabil dibandingkan dengan konsentrasi AgNO3 yang lain.
Kata kunci: Nanopartikel perak, asam askorbat dan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis.

Cotton fabric is proposed as an alternative material for low cost point of care devices. Cotton fabrics are vastly available, low cost and flexible. Simple wax patterning method was applied to create hydrophilic channels in cotton fabric. Three-dimensional (3-D) colorimetric microfluidic device was made by folding 2-D pattern along certain predefined lines. 3-D devices show better mixing uniformity between reagents and analyte across the detection zones. On-chip colorimetric calibration is also proposed by putting predefined serially diluted
samples next to the detection zones. Multiple assays can be integrated within a small surface area by stacking layers of individual assay device separated by a wax-impregnated fabric. Cotton fabric was also used as a platform for conducting Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The colorimetric performance is similar to the conventional absorbancebased ELISA, yet with lower cost and shorter time to get results. A second type of device using electrochemical detection principle is also implemented in cotton fabric with three electrode configuration (working, counter and reference electrode), using similar simple and low-cost wax-patterning. In both colorimetric and electrochemical device, comparison with te already popular paper-based device will be discussed. Finally, we present latest results in our lab in which cotton fabrics were used as a novel platform for cell-based assay and cellmanipulation

PEMBUATAN KOMPOSIT Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 DAN APLIKASINYA DALAM PROSES FOTOKATALISIS

Di dalam makalah ini, di lakukan proses fotokatalisis dengan menggunakan komposit Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 . Material komposit Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 di siapkan dan di karakterisasi menggunakan alat-alat instrumentasi dan aplikasinya untuk mendegradasi fenol secara fotokatalitik telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati degradasi larutan metilen biru sebagai model polutan organik di bawah penynaran UV-Vis. Tahapan penelitian ini yaitu yang pertama, pembuatan Fe3O4 dengan metode kopresipitasi, yang kedua pembuatan ZnO dengan metode kopresipitasi dan yang terakhir pembuatan Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 melalui reaksi padat-padat kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan X-ray Diffraction (XRD) dan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) serta dilanjutkan dengan proses degradasi metilen biru lalu di karakterisasi dengan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan adanya struktur komposit Zn-Fe3O4/WO3. Pada analisa SEM dapat diamati pada Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 terdapat ukuran partikel yang tidak seragam dan cenderung menggumpul serta menempel satu sama lain. Hasil optimasi pada degradasi methylene blue berdasarkan variasi jenis katalis yang digunakan menunjukkan bahwa Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 memiliki aktivitas yang lebih baik dibandingkan Fe3O4, ZnO dan WO3. Lalu pada variasi sumber sinar menunjukkan sinar UV-Vis menghasilkan nilai % degradasi lebih baik.

OPTIMIZATION OF THE BLUSH ON STICK BASE AND PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING OF MELINJO FRUIT (Gnetum gnemon Linn)

Red melinjo skin or Gnetum gnemon has the potential to be used as an alternative natural dye because it has an attractive color due to the presence of carotenoid anthocyanin pigments, a derivative of terpenoid compounds. Carotenoids can be used as natural dyes in blush stick preparations. Melinjo peel was extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol and citric acid and after that it was tested for phytochemical screening and extract characterization. The blush on stick base formulation consists of several components including carnauba wax, candelilla wax, talcum, oleum ricini, methyl paraben, BHT, tween 80. color and scent. The base of the blush stick preparation is quite stable, homogeneous, pH 3.8-4.7 (close to skin pH), in accordance with the criteria of SNI 16-479-1998, easy to apply with an even color, and very homogeneous formulation when applied to hands.

Penelitian mengenai Uji Skrining Fitokimia dan Uji Aktivitas Antioksidan dari Berbagai Ekstrak Daun Akasia (Acacia auriculiformis Benth.) telah dilakukan. Hasil uji skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun akasia adalah senyawa flavonoid, steroid, fenolik dan saponin. Kemudian, difraksinasi dengan menggunakan pelarut organik dari n-heksan, etil asetat dan air. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan Peredaman Radikal Bebas (DPPH) menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak yang memiliki daya aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi adalah ekstrak etanol sebesar 91,75%
