POTENSI AKTIVITAS ANTIINFLAMASI EKSTRAK ETANOL BUNGA PACING PUTIH (Costus speciosus (J. Koenig) Sm.)

Abstract

Inflammation is the basic process by which tissues respond or react to infection, irritation, or other injuries. One of the plants that have the potential as an anti-inflammatory is pacing putih (Costus speciosus (J. Koenig) Sm.). This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extract. The method used was the inhibition of protein denaturation with bovine serum albumin and diclofenac sodium as positive controls. The ethanol extract contains phenolics, flavonoids, and saponins. Anti-inflammatory activity (IC₅₀) of 30.9031 mg/L. The ethanol extract of pacing putih flower has the potential to have anti-inflammatory activity.
